About NRfamPred

NRfamPred is a SVM based two level predictor of nuclear receptor proteins and their sub-family. In response to a query protein sequence submission, it first predicts whether the query sequence is nuclear receptor or not (Level 1 Prediction, Fig. 1). If the query sequence is predicted as non-nuclear receptor, the program will stop automatically. In case the predictor detects that the query sequence is a nuclear receptor protein, it will try to classify it into one of following seven sub-nuclear receptor families (Level 2 Prediction, Fig. 1):
  1. Knirps like (NR0)
  2. Thyroid hormone like (NR1)
  3. HNF4-like (NR2)
  4. Estrogen like(NR3)
  5. Nerve growth factor IB-like (NR4)
  6. Fushi tarazu-F1 like (NR5) and
  7. Germ cell nuclear factor like (NR6).
