Overview

RAREPalm is an SVM method that can be applied to the protein sequences for finding glycine and serine residues modified by palmitoylation. RAREPalm was developed by using a training dataset of 59 and 1549 peptides having glycine and serine residues respectively. It calculates position-specific scoring matrices for user's uploaded protein sequence(s) which is used as input for SVM.

RAREPalm managed a remarkable performance for identifying palmitoylated glycine region(s) with 100% sensitivity, specificity, and accuracy values. SVM model used in RAREPalm for predicting serine palmitoylated regions has 98.28% sensitivity, 100% specificity, and 99.94% accuarcy.
